Hi Chrissie

I think the prolbem this year is the high temp, even if you water plants they seem not to do so well as when watered by the rain. Out tomatoes are awful this year, hardly any setting, so I'll be buying them this summer. The beans look ok, but haven't started setting yet. You could try pollinating with a paint brush, tickle them with it!

We had our first beetroot of the year last week, and also raspberries and redcurrants. I've been picking redcurrants in the shade this morning, have got to pick blackcurrants, but will leave it until another day.

Gardening gives you mixed emotions, plants can do well, others will fail, gardens never stay still!

Love Lyn

My spring onion seeds are refusing to come up - I think something has eaten them. I was so pleased when I saw the rain, but they still refuse to come up.

I've been picking some blackcurrants today, I'm going to make a Summer Pudding at the weekend, we have Richard & Emily coming to stay while her mummy is at work. I'm really looking forward to it, although it means a lot of work, but I'll have to rest up when they've gone.
